Kenesaw Mountain Landis Single Signed American League Baseball HOF JSA COA RARE

Official American League baseball (Harridge) signed by Kenesaw Mountain Landis, the first commissioner of baseball. Landis has signed the ball “Kenesaw M. Landis” in black fountain pen on the sweet spot. The date “Nov 20 1940” is noted in Landis’ hand below his signature. Landis single-signed balls are rare, and this is an especially desirable example because it has his full signature, as opposed to the more commonly found “KM Landis.” Landis served as commissioner of baseball from 1921 until his death in 1944. He was elected to the Hall of Fame that same year by virtue of a special election. The ball has an abrasion on the sweet spot, which has affected Landis’ signature. Full LOA from James Spence/JSA.
