Description
It was a year that started with great expectations and high hopes, but the march towards another dynasty was halted abruptly in February 1958. When the team’s plane crashed in Munich, tragedy struck as eight key members of the squad were killed. Roger Byrne, Geoff Bent, Eddie Colman, Mark Jones, David Pegg, Tommy Taylor and Liam Whelan all died in the wreckage, while one of United’s top players, Duncan Edwards, died of his injuries two weeks later. Amazingly, United made it to the F.A. Cup final that year, but the next several seasons were spent rebuilding the heart of the club.
This poster is an amazing tribute to that squad, and includes archival photos of all the players as well as legendary manager Sir Matt Busby. It is an inspirational piece that belongs in a prominent spot on the wall of any United backer! A rare poster; limited quantity available.
